Overview
- Through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s (BMGF) Africa-wide Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) Platform, Social Impact is undertaking a contribution analysis (CA) of the Nigeria Country Offices’ (NCOs) Routine Immunization (RI) portfolio.
- The CA will utilize mixed methods to trace BMGF’s contributions to the routine immunization space in Nigeria.
Position Description
- SI seeks a short-term Senior Evaluation Specialist with an expertise in immunization to support CA data collection and analysis. SI expects the Senior Evaluation Specialist to work collaboratively with the SI team to conduct the CA and craft the contribution story.
- The Senior Evaluation Specialist will use their expertise related to immunization in Nigeria to support the development of qualitative instruments, review of secondary quantitative data and contribute to drafting of results. If possible, in person interviews will be carried out with stakeholder in Nigeria.
- This position will report to the SI HQ Project Director and Project Manager, communicating with them regularly to ensure progress towards completion of deliverables. This position will be part-time from approximately May - June 2022.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a desk review and interviews with internal and external BMGF NCO RI stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of interview guides that are grounded in an understanding of RI in Nigeria.
- Conduct analysis of secondary quantitative, qualitative (interviews) and other data sources to establish the NCO RI contribution story.
- Support the Project Director in the assessment of the NCO’s RI Theory of Change, and establishing causal linkages, assumptions, and gaps.
- Contribute to the development and review of deliverables and respond to feedback.
- Communicate regularly with the SI team and provide notes from all interviews as specified by SI.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by SI.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in International Development, Public Health or a similar field with eight years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
- At least eight years of experience in RI monitoring and evaluation, and/or program design, data collection and analysis or research, of complex donor-funded programs is required.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with multiple high-level stakeholders (e.g., clients, government officials and donors and others) is required
- Demonstrated experience with the design and application of Contribution Analysis in evaluation and/or program assessment is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
