Job Description

  • Director, Gas Development must have in-depth knowledge of Operational and Technical Practices in an E&P company with relevant onshore, offshore / swamp fields experience, Gas Commercial, economic Modelling knowledge and Economic analysis for decision making as well as Gas business value chain realization and profitability.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to lead and manage multiple concurrent projects. work in a team environment, and be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders,

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities related to gas development gas transportation and customer choice including monitoring nominations, providing balancing services and interconnect capacity
  • Identifying gas development and sales opportunities for strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders with good global standing and reputation for transfer of technological know-how and skills for rapid business growth
  • Preparing. implementing, monitoring and reporting on the annual departmental business plans in line with Corporate Strategic Plan and performance targets
  • Develop and maintain key business relationships with producers, marketers and interstate pipelines
  • Negotiate gas purchase and interstate pipeline contracts
  • Direct and manage daily and monthly gas acquisition and storage activities
  • Develop and report key gas supply metrics to the Board
  • Create gas market and develop matching agreements to ensure profitable sales opportunities.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing the gas development team to ensure optimal performance and effective succession planning in the unit.
  • Giving oversight in ensuring that gas development activities uphold Company corporate image by mitigating factors that will result in conflict with communities on site and any litigation
  • Liaising with Legal Department to deliver Gas Commercial Agreements and procedures, where necessary.
  • Monitoring and ensuring realization of gas projects. Procuring project management - supervision and budgetary Control
  • Manage alternative fending relationship and execution of alternative evacuation route, gas pipeline and concept development
  • Participating in field development planning, for gas development, gas negotiation, sales and marketing
  • Developing midstream (CNG and gas distribution) opportunities and business engagements with regulators and other relevant stakeholders
  • Overall responsibility for delivery of commercial agreements associated with third parties systems; oil and gas transportation agreements, lease of platform MSC., interconnection agreements, producer's agreement, third party gas supply agreements etc.
  • Identification of Gas business opportunity, maturation of such emerging opportunities for 'so: benefit of the company.
  • Follow up project stations and participate in bid evaluation and analysis / award recommendations to Management.
  • Ensure company compliance with all regulations from relevant regulatory agencies.

Qualifications and Required Competencies

  • A minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in a core Engineering Discipline, Business Administration. Economics or other science related discipline with a minimum of Second Class, Upper Division.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant gas development. supply purchasing and planning experience, five (5) of which should have been at a Senior Management level handling Gas Commercial business Structuring, framing and project maturation as well as participated in Gas Commercial Agreements - delivery and negotiations.
  • Strong forecasting and modeling, LDC tariffs and interstate pipeline tariffs.
  • General knowledge of regressions and forecasting
  • Strong knowledge of gas operations, gas control and system flow parameters, energy risk management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including complex Spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication skills (presentation, written, and verbal).
  • Strong business planning skills.
  • Possess Strong fundamentals in commercial and regulatory aspects of Petroleum as well as good understanding of E&P including: Engineering and Surface Facilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen
  • A good understanding of the risks and technical issues associated with gas business and development opportunities.
