Job Description:

  • To be an integral part of the HMO strategic team reporting to the MD, also to participate and collaborate in maintaining and sustaining an effective and efficient work environment. Proposing and enforcing policies, principles, and standards that facilitate effective service provision and delivery.
  • To supervise, manage and monitor staff to discharge their respective assignments in a professional, timely, customer-friendly, and excellent manner.
  • To ensure quality assurance in engaging Health Care Providers and managing their service delivery to the HMO enrollees.
  • To supervise health services staff in negotiating with providers, doctors, pharmacies, clinics, and other health care facilities with the goal of optimally maintaining a robust network of providers nationwide.
  • Handle case assignments; develop and management of service plans; review and monitor case progress and determine and ensure case closure; handle and approve referrals for secondary and tertiary care.
  • Coordinate and facilitate harmonious interdepartmental collaboration and cross-functional teams with a focus on effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to and coordinate teams towards sustaining brand visibility by actively engaging in the HMO’s public relations and marketing strategy. To promote the company’s products, services, and public image – this will include organizing and participating in workshops, seminars, sensitization programs, pep talks, and other activities that involve dissemination of information to the public on health and HMO matters.
  • Contribute in terms of preparation, obtaining approval, and managing the implementation of the HMO budgets to ensure targets are met, revenue flows are maximized while cost is minimized.
  • Represent the company in negotiation with customers, suppliers, government, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and promptly submit reports, meeting minutes, communique, brochures on health service delivery, etc. to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive the training, retention, and performance management of subordinates to inspire and motivate them on the job.

Qualification:

  • First Degree and Post Graduate Qualification in Medical, Public Health, Health Management other related fields.
  • Certification in and/ or Professional membership of Health Management or Health Insurance bodies.
  • Minimum of 10 years post NYSC experience with 5 years HMO experience.
  • Attendance of Related Courses/workshop/Seminars and leadership certifications
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, Powerpoint, and statistical tools like SPSS.
